Kolkata – The Vacant Pool of Talent

Do you know in whole of India, Kolkata is considered to be the largest talent pool? Some may feel hard to agree with me. Kolkata named as the city of joy by Dominique Lapierre and thus the whole world knows Kolkata by the same name. It is the land of Rabindranath Tagore and Satyajit Roy. Kolkata is also known as the cultural capital of India for the versatile culture over here but as years are passing by it is becoming a land which gives birth to scholars but can’t hold them up in its arms.

Today, as referred in many magazines Kolkata is considered to be the barren land or job seekers. Kolkata has a number of famous schools and colleges that produces some of the mind blowing talents every year. You must have heard that after getting qualified the talented are moving from these land of joy and culture and trying their fortune in some other places on the earth. Why so? The only reason being there are not enough opportunities for growth in Kolkata. There are certain aspirants who do not want to leave their parents and want to try out their luck in Kolkata but to our greatest misfortune we are unable to hold them up as they are not getting the desired growth opportunity and salary over here and as a result they are moving to some other part. They are getting job and desired salary in some other places and thus are settling outside Kolkata.

In order to engage these quality aspirants in Kolkata, we need to have more job facilities in Kolkata. We need to have more industries willing to invest in Kolkata. As seen in recent years our Government is trying heart and soul to attract more investors to Kolkata. We do hope that a time will come when no talent has to go outside Kolkata in search of job and better growth
